Camp Shop Hours
The camp shop is available from 9.00am to 7.00pm during Summer & Spring and 9.00am to 5.00pm in Autumn & Winter. If checking in outside of these hours then please ring the bell for service. We stock a wide range of products, drinks and ice cream for your convenience.
We have a great selection of free DVD's and a 'swap a book' library.
1pm for cabins & bunkhouses, 12pm for power & tent sites. Cabin accommodation will be held up until 4pm on the day of arrival unless we have been otherwise notified.
10am for Cabins & group accommodation, 11am for tents, caravans, motorhomes.
Balance of account is payable on arrival. Payment must be made for the full time booked. All Christmas-New Year bookings must be paid in full in advance.
Caravans Must have an electrical warrant of fitness. Must have own wastewater container.
Electricity can only be connected through an approved RCD Safety Switch.
One vehicle to be parked on own site only. No parking of vehicles on camp road grass verges. Access ways to rear sites must be kept clear. Off-site extra parking for a second car or trailer is close by. No visitors cars permitted.
Vehicle speed in park is limited to a walking pace only - 5km.
In consideration of other campers we ask for:
- Reasonable behaviour at all times. No excessive drinking or loud noise.
- No noise after 10.30 pm (12.30am NY Eve)
- Liquor can only be consumed on your site or in your unit
- Payment of a $50 per person behaviour bond may be required
Cost of damage to property or accommodation will be recovered. Recovery costs start at $50.00
Please supervise children at all times to keep them safe. Bikes may be ridden in the park, but please make sure they wear helmets and do not ride near or play on the main gate.
4 powered/unpowered sites only, available for campers with well behaved dogs. Situated just outside the main camp gate Dogs are NOT allowed in the campground nor in any of our roofed accomodation but can be taken on a lead to the Reserve & river. Please check availablity to book a site.
Ashley Gorge is the perfect spot to spend the day in the warmer Months. However, visitors to your site bear a cost to us & affect the services we provide to our paying guests.
Visitors to your site are by courtesy of Managment only and may be declined during our busy periods. Please speak to us if you wish to invite visitors to your site. Visitors are your responsibility & will be charged for the use of our facilities depending on numbers & length of stay. Visitors are to register at the office on arrival. Visitors cars are NOT permitted in the campground & all visitors must depart my 8pm. Any unregistered guests on your site will be charged full camp fees.
Ashley Gorge Road gates are locked at dusk each night till 7.30 am. Please talk to us if you are arriving after this time.
Non-recyclable rubbish only to be put in rubbish bins. Glass, plastic, cardboard & paper is all recycled so please use Recycling Stations beside most rubbish bins, please do not put glass in the general rubbish.
All year round including the Reserve and riverbed. Gas BBQs and Gas braziers only. No Fireworks.
Available for purchase from the office.
Located in the centre of the camp which contains kitchens, laundry, toilets and showers.
Contain jugs, toasters, microwaves, cooking elements, ovens and fridge freezers. Kitchens may be locked between 10.30 pm and 7 am & no overnight charging is permitted.
Provided for your use or bring your own GAS bbq.
Washing machines (3 x $1 coins) and dryers (1 x $2 coin) are located in the laundry. Iron and ironing board provided. Powder available from the camp shop.
Operate on tokens, & can be purchased from the office. 1 token for 5-6 minutes.
The kitchen and ablutions block are cleaned throughly twice daily and checked often.

Please observe the basic rules of the Holiday Parks Association of NZ. See Noticeboard. We ask for your co-operation so that your stay and the stay of other guests can be enjoyable.
Cancellation Policy -other than Covid related (where a full refund or credit will be offered)
No Show = No refund - Any booking cancelled with more than 14 days notice will receive a refund of deposit less $25.00 admin fee and any card charges. - No refund for any booking cancelled within 14 days of arrival date unless unit or site can be relet for entire time for booking. - No refund for any booking cancelled within 24 hours of arrival.
- Christmas/New Year bookings must be fully paid in advance.
- No booking is confirmed until a deposit is paid.
- Balance of fees outside of Christmas. New Year to be paid on ARRIVAL.
- Prices may be subject to change without notification.
- No refunds for early departures unless accommodation or site is re-let.
- Minimum stay applies over the Dec/Jan period and Long Weekends.
- Specific site subject to alteration if management find it necessary.
